1. Open Outlook:
- Open the Outlook program on your computer.
2.Go to Account Settings:
- In the top menu, click on "File".
- Select "Account Settings"from the dropdown menu, then click on **"Account Settings"** again.
3. Add a New Account:
- In the Account Settings window, click on **"New"** to start setting up a new email account.
4. Choose Account Type:
- Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and then click "Next".
5. Choose Email Service:
- Select "POP or IMAP" and then click "Next".
6. Enter Account Information:
- In the Account Settings window, enter the following information:
- Your Name: Enter your full name.
- Email Address: Enter your full email address.
- Account Type: Choose IMAP.
- Incoming mail server: Enter the IMAP server address provided by your email provider (e.g., imap.example.com).
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Enter the SMTP server address provided by your email provider (e.g., smtp.example.com).
- User Name: Enter your full email address.
- Password: Enter your email password.
7. More Settings:
- Click on "More Settings".
- In the "Outgoing Server" tab, make sure to check **"My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"**.
- In the "Advanced" tab, enter the correct port numbers for the servers:
- Incoming server (IMAP): Usually port 993 with SSL encryption.
- Outgoing server (SMTP): Usually port 587 with TLS encryption.
8. Test Account Settings:
- Click "Next" to test the account settings. If all the information is correct, you will see a confirmation message.
9. Finish Setup:
- Click "Finish" to complete the account setup.
Your IMAP email account should now be set up and ready to use in Outlook. If you encounter any issues, make sure to verify the server settings with your email provider.
